We hope to bring the L.E.A.D. program back to IACAC soon.

The Leadership, Equity, Accountability, and Diversity Program was a professional development program for counselors from racially and ethnically underrepresented groups who are interested in enrollment management. The program highlighted topics such as direct job experience, indirect job experience, self persuasion, self care, and goal setting. Additionally, participants had an opportunity to network with other professionals of color in enrollment management positions. The LEAD Program cohort met once a month at locations throughout Illinois from December 2019 through June 2020. There was no direct cost to participants.

Mission Statement: The L.E.A.D. Program is committed to providing counselors from racially and ethnically underrepresented groups the personal and professional growth skills that are required to obtain advancement opportunities within the field of higher education.

Participants can expect to receive the following learning outcomes:

  • Direct Experience – Participants will increase their knowledge base by executing relevant job skills modeled by professionals in enrollment management
  • Indirect Experience – Participants will establish and expand their social and professional capital through mentorship and networking
  • Self Persuasion – Participants will develop confidence founded in critical self reflection and assessment
  • Self Care – Participants will learn positive physical and mental health care methods to confront stressful circumstances
  • Goal Setting – Participants will develop action plans and implement strategies for personal and professional growth
