Awareness & Preparation
(CAP)
» IACAC volunteers—with colleagues from the Illinois
Student Assistance Commission and the Illinois Association
of Student Financial Aid Administrators—participate
in activities designed to provide admission and financial
aid information to students and their parents.
» Workshops
to share admission and financial aid information, and
to assist families in completing the FAFSA, are held
throughout the state. IACAC admission professionals
also volunteer to assist on College Goal Sunday to provide
families with information about higher education opportunities
in Illinois.
· Chicago National College Fair
» Planned in conjunction with the National Association
for College Admission Counseling, this is the largest
college fair in Illinois.
» More than 400 colleges and
universities are represented.
» More than 19,000 students,
parents, and counselors attend.
» IACAC volunteers provide
information on college selection, financial aid, and
other aspects of postsecondary planning.
