Job Description
Committee Mission Statement
The
Admission Practices Committee’s responsibilities
are:
- To
review annually the Statement of Principles of Good
Practices of IACAC and the monitoring system, in light
of current practices and procedures in college admission
and to formulate and recommend changes to this document;
- To
educate admission and counseling professionals and
others dealing with areas related to admissions and
their institutions regarding the nature of ethical
standards as adopted and promoted by IACAC, and to
assist them in fully integrating such policies and
procedures into their practices;
- To
monitor compliance with Statement of Principles of
Good Practice, and to respond to concerns regarding
possible violations with the goal of ensuring full
compliance among members;
- To
promote the adoption of and compliance with similar
standards by non-members within the profession; and
- To
promote awareness of ethical practices among students
and their families.
