This seminar will give participants the option to choose from a variety of sessions. Topics include NACAC’s college awareness curriculum training, becoming a Recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP) within your high school, Higher Education perspectives from the Attorney General’s Office, exploring new(er) ways to work utilizing tech tools. Additional topics include enhancing awareness of summer college and career readiness workshops for rising seniors, understanding LGBTQ students and how they navigate the college/admission process, empowering school counselors to increase student interest in and preparedness for computing and technology, supporting undocumented students, and encouraging and engaging underrepresented students to excel.

This seminar tackles topics on assisting transfer students in their college experience and helping students go from DACA to college diploma. Attendees will also receive training on NACAC’s college awareness curriculum.
West & North Suburban District

This seminar will give participants the option to choose from a variety of sessions. It will feature Higher Education perspectives from the Attorney General’s Office, updates on DACA/Illinois Dream Act, Bachelor degree benefits and current job trend information, admission best practices and ethics updates, trade school and vocational program options, and retention initiatives promoting equity and success.
Opportunities to Give
There are two opportunities to give available at each of the District Seminars: Project Reach Donations and IACAC Scholarships. Please bring new or gently used school supplies to drop off at any District Seminar site. Monetary donations for the IACAC scholarships will be collected and donations can be made online.
Lunch is included and Illinois State Board of Education Professional Development hours are available at each seminar.
